At Secondhand Hounds, we truly believe in the power of paying it forward. We have been fortunate enough to have the best volunteers, fosters, donors, and supporters, which has allowed us to grow quickly and effectively.

We have concentrated many of our outreach efforts on our tribal partnerships. We are humbled and excited to be a trusted partner of many tribal communities.
Currently, we host wellness clinics with our partners in the Red Lake Band, the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, and Minneapolis-based urban Tribal members. At these clinics, Secondhand Hounds funds spay and neuter surgeries to over 200 animals per year and provides wellness exams and life-saving vaccines to over 1,000 animals per year. We are grateful to our donors, volunteers, wellness colleagues, and - most importantly - our Tribal partners. This critical healthcare work would not be possible without them.
We are in need of veterinary partners to help extend our efforts! The second biggest roadblock for us to host more clinics is veterinary staffing. If you are a vet, a CVT, or an animal hospital who is interested in becoming more involved, please fill out this short form! We are willing to work with you to serve more animals.
The main road block we face is funding! Although we currently spend over $45,000 on these clinics each year, we are consistently asked to add more clinic locations. It is so incredibly hard to say no when there is such a huge need. If you are an individual or company looking to maximize your donations' impact in the fight to reduce overpopulation and euthanasia, this is the perfect way to do so! Please email Rachel at rachel@secondhandhounds.org to talk more about sponsorship opportunities.
