From the Foster:

Delilah lives life in the slow lane and does everything at her own pace. True to the Great Pyrenees side of her, Delilah is very protective and has taken it upon herself to guard me, my house, and my yard from any and all intruders, both human and animal. One of her favorite things to do is walk around the perimeter of my yard and ensure that we are safe from any harm that could be lurking about. This protective nature is a wonderful trait, but needs to be taken into consideration especially if you have small children and/or animals in your home. Delilah's adopter(s) will need to meet her where she's at and understand that her need to protect is a natural instinct for her and something she enjoys doing.

Delilah arrived very shy and nervous, but I am happy to say that with each passing day, she opens up a little bit more. Although she has made great progress while she's been with me, her adopter(s) will need to be very patient and understanding with her, knowing that it may take some time for her to settle in again in a new environment. At this point in time, Delilah has not shown much interest in going for walks, playing with toys, or playing with my resident dog. She is still trying to figure out this crazy thing called life, and does extremely well with another confident dog in the house to help show her the ropes and help her feel more at ease.

Overall, Delilah is an absolute sweetheart who is looking for a home where she can feel safe and loved. Shared walls are not going to be the best situation for her, due to her instinct to protect and alert (bark) when she sees unknown people and critters nearby. Delilah loves to be outside, roaming about my yard, and searching for bunnies and squirrels to hunt. In order to keep her safe from wandering away, she will need a secure setup for being outside (whether with a secure tie-out or a physical fence).
