From the Foster:

Little Miss Merry is a one-of-a-kind ultra sweet dog with a very timid, yet non-reactive side to her that will melt your heart.
We have had the pleasure of seeing Merry go from not wanting to make eye contact with us the night she arrived to her barking with joy when we come home now.
She does still have some things we’d want any potential adopter to know so we’ll start with those. First, she is on a daily anti-anxiety med & calming supplement. While she has come a very long way, she has a ways to go and would likely even regress some in a new home for a while.
She also will require a fenced in yard for two reasons: outside is heaven to her & she might not ever become fully comfortable with a leash. The latter obviously means she might not be a dog who could ever go on walks as well.
Merry would do best in a home without kids and ideally with the adult(s) around a good amount, or best yet someone working from home as that would help her anxiety. We would also prefer a home with another dog and it would need to be a nice, respectful dog that ideally also likes playing chase or tug-of-war! A quiet home & neighborhood would also go a long way to providing her with an ideal environment to thrive in.
I know there is a lot to understand with a dog like Merry but she is simply amazing. We often summarized her as almost a dog/cat hybrid when friends ask what she’s like.  She will definitely play with our dog while in dog mode but inside she has a cat-style lounge about her - likely due to her timidness & not as bold as most dogs jumping on you etc but it’s really part of her charm. Because when she does peak around the corner to see if you are coming back to bed, you know she will be waiting for you!
