From the Foster:
Say hello to sweet Hattie! She was a local stray caught near the U of M with her momma. Hattie’s forever family will need to be very patient with her and respect her space while she adjusts to a new home. It took several weeks of hiding and hissing for her to get comfortable enough approaching people and even after a few months in our home, she’s still pretty skittish if you approach her too fast – it’s best if you let her approach you.

Because of this, Hattie will do best in a quieter home with either no children or older children who know how to respect her space. Waiting for her to acclimate is well worth it though because she is a little lover once she knows she can trust you!Hattie is litter box trained, loves our resident cat (dogs are unknown but given her skittishness might not be a great fit for her unless the dog is known to leave cats alone), is a good eater and meows for her wet food treat every morning (something our resident taught her LOL), is doing well at using the scratching
post, and loves to play with toys. She also likes to chase and wrestle with our resident cat so would love to have a playmate, although she’d be fine as an only pet too.

She’s so entertaining to watch and she has no trouble amusing herself if our resident isn’t interested in playing at that moment. She’s super interested in people food so watch out because she’ll try to get a taste whenever she can. She is well-behaved overall, but she is a kitten and likes to get into normal kitten mischief. She does like to try to chew on cords so we’re working on that. Hattie mostly hides and naps during the day, although in the afternoon she loves to curl up on a bed by my work computer and nap and get pets while I work.

When she’s ready for attention she now has zero reservations coming up to us for love. She loves to have her bum and chin scratched and will happily snuggle up with you on the couch or in bed for some pets. If she’s not getting enough attention, she’s figured out that laying down on you and rolling over and looking up with giant kitten eyes is pretty much guaranteed to melt our hearts and get her plenty of pets. Works every time!

Hattie is ready for a family to call her own who will love her and give her a home where she can thrive!
